The Perspectives course is coming to Menasha!
From Pastor Ted’s December 2 newsletter:
Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. I believe that God has a “world-sized” role for every Christian in His global purpose. It’s central to who we are as members of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Whether people go to distant countries or stay at home is a secondary issue. The primary issue is what most people are hungry to discover: vision to live a life of purpose. At various times over the years, I’ve brushed shoulders with a course titled “Perspectives on the World Christian Movement.” Its purpose is to help individuals clarify the vision buried within.
I’ve never enrolled in Perspectives because it’s an ambitious undertaking (cf. 15 weeks). But now is the time for me. (What sealed the deal was my being drafted to teach one of the sessions.) It’s being offered on Sunday evenings (5-8 p.m.), between January 11 and April 26 at Christ the Rock Church, Menasha. … (Brochures and additional information are available on the Narthex table.) You’ll read the names of well-respected individuals and institutions. I wish you’d join me. Please pray about it.
Here’s some more information:
Perspectives is a fifteen week course designed around four vantage points or “perspectives” — Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic. Each one highlights different aspects of God’s global purpose. The Biblical and Historical sections reveal why our confidence is based on the historic fact of God’s relentless work from the dawn of history until this day. The Cultural and Strategic sections underscore that we are in the midst of a costly, but very “do-able” task, confirming the Biblical and Historical hope.
