Important Virtual Communion Update

Virtual Communion Update – June 24, 2022

In 2020, as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EPC made a temporary provision for communion to be administered virtually. At the EPC 41st General Assembly (2021), the Theology Committee was asked to study whether virtual communion should be continued.

Over the past year, the Theology Committee studied the issue, and concluded:

The consistent witness of Scripture, our constitution, and confessional standards is that the proper context for administering the Lord’s Supper is the physical gathering of God’s people, where the elements are given and received according to Christ’s command.

The commissioners at the EPC 42nd General Assembly (2022) voted to approve the recommendation to discontinue virtual communion, effective immediately

In accordance with this decision, Christ Alone Church will offer only in-person communion, beginning with the July 3, 2022 observance of the Lord’s Supper.

If you would like to partake in communion and are unable to attend a worship service, please contact Pastor Cory to arrange for a time for communion to be brought to you.
